An event round-up post now 2021 has ended! Happy New Year everyone :-)

Under the cut is a list of the 34 fandom exchanges and events I participated in this year as peasina and flowerdeluce. I've summarised them briefly and included links to comms for those who might be looking for some new challenges in 2022!

There's a new podfic-related event starting for 2021: the Podfic Appreciation Fest! This is a fest for leaving comments on podfic, making podfic covers, and posting podfic rec lists. You can also submit up to five podfics to be in the limelight, though any and all podfics are fair game for feedback. Anyone can join too, and it starts in April. Find out more here at the amplificathon comm.

The fest descibes itself as a podfic fandom event to encourage feedback on amazing podfics. Encourage you...with points! Yes, you get points for participating. The points are based on a variety of factors described at the signup post: things such as how many comments a podfic had when the fest opened, how many words a comment contains, whether it was a podfic submitted by a participant, and many more. 

I've submitted my five pods and look forward to participating in April. I'm aiming for 50 points (a number I completely pulled out of the air but... it's a good number!) If anyone wants to have a fest buddy in April, hit me up. Happy commenting!

The Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology is a collection of short, lady-centric podfics published each year in February. The 2021 submission deadline is February 14th, and the anthology will go live on February 28th. The optional theme for this year's anthology is: representation.

awesomeladiespodfic is now in its eleventh year! Their AO3 collection is here and a list of all previous anthologies can be found here.

I'm hoping to take part for the first time this year. I already have a few fandoms and ladies in mind, but I wouldn't say no to anyone shooting me some suggestions for fics I might read for the anthology :-)

It's been exactly one month since I last posted here, gah. Hello!

Being knocked out by the dreaded virus has taken its toll on my podfic output (and fic writing, *woe*.) I'm starting to feel much better now though, and I'm hoping to make some more podfic before the new year thanks to the following events which I'm here to signal boost :-D

voiceteam's Mystery Box
After missing their first round earlier this year, I was pleased to see Voice Team return for the holiday period. There are still two days to sign-up for their two-week 'Mystery Box' challenge (along with 70+ other podficcers who've already put their name down!) The info post is here. Go, go, go!

I've really enjoyed seeing seeing people ask for podfic in their wishlists. If you haven't posted a wishlist yet, there's still time! Over sixty have gone up so far, and here's mine if you fancy checking it out :-)

fandomtrees Gifting Fest
These kinds of fests are my favourite. Sign-ups are closed, so the fun now is dropping presents under people's trees. I love that their spreadsheet shows which trees are a little bereft of baubles at the moment. You can also use it to filter by fandom and requested medium type to see who's looking for art, fic, podfic, icons, etc. My tree is here (and to save you a click, I'm asking for art, fic, and podfic for: BASEketball (1998), The Book of Mormon - Paker/Stone/Lopez, Independence Day (Movies), and Monty Python's Flying Circus!)

purimgifts 2021
Sign-ups are just over two weeks away, and I've already started on my letter. I may be excited! This will be my first time taking part, and for those who don't know, Purim Gifts is a fanfic and/or podfic exchange with a side-helping of art, focusing on characters who’re at least one of: women, Jewish or persecuted by evil viziers. pod_o_ween is a low-stress Halloween-themed podfic event! Their info post is here.

Laptop issues permitting, I'm hoping to make at least one "trick" podfic for one of the above prompts (or a "treat" for someone on their treat list, here.) Halloween is my favourite holiday, and I love fandom events involving it :-) I currently have no ideas for the above prompts. If you do, please comment pointing me in any direction! I have some ideas now, but do please send me some more if you like!

equalityauction is a fandom charity auction. Fans offer works they can create to be bid on, the winning bidder makes a donation to charity and receives the work. This fan auction is seeking to raise money because Black Lives Matter. While a few funds, charities, and causes will be suggested by this community, there is a long list that's accepting donations and any from it may be chosen.

You can sign up as a creator until 19 June. I've signed up offering podfic and I'm excited to see what others will offer! 

Unconventional Fanworks Exchange is a gift exchange for fanwork besides traditional fic and art, including (but not limited to): meta, in-universe documents, vids, podfic, audio not!fic, chatfic, and multimedia fanwork. There's more info about this exchange at unconventionalfanworkex and their rules are listed on their 2020 AO3 collection. Nominations are open now!

I'm hoping to take part by offering podfic. I'm not sure what I'm going to request yet, though there are so many types of fanwork that sound interesting.
