peasinaA belated end of year round-up post! This time, it's 2020 fandom exchanges and events I participated in as peasina and flowerdeluce. I've summarised them super briefly in this post and included links to the comms for those who might be looking for some new challenges :-) They're in no particular order.

The first fandom exchange I signed up for with my podfic account, and an exchange for mediums that aren't commonly requested in fandom exchanges. I was lucky enough to receive a gorgeous podfic of one of my works, Early Days [Star Trek: TNG, Data & Lore & Noonian Soong] by do_it_to_julia. It has sound effects and music and it's beautiful! <3
Fic in A Boxficinabox
A 10k or equivalent exchange. I recorded a 10k Lucifer podfic for my recipient and picked up a pinch-hit for the Sarazanmai anime that was really fun. I received the most amazing Night at the Museum story that I absolutely adore. Check out Limited Engagement by ambiguously for 10k+ of fluffy Jedediah/Octavius fun!

Chromatic Characters Podfic Anthology
My first time taking part in an anthology project! I needed a little bit of assistance from the mods getting my files right, but they were super helpful and I'm so grateful. All the works are included in the anthology's AO3 Collection.
Equality Auctionequalityauction
I was nervous to put myself down as a creator for this fandom auction raising funds for Black Lives Matter, but I'm so glad I did. I offered podfic and icons and $100 was donated for them, which is my biggest achievement of the year! :-) I'll definitely offer as a creator if it runs again.
Voiceteam Mystery Boxvoiceteam
As I missed the signups for the first round of Voiceteam by one day, I was thrilled that they did a spinoff/bonus round at the end of the year. This event took over my entire life in the best way! I tried so many new things with podfic and made some amazing podficcer friends. You can read my journal post where I summarise my experience with this event, here.

This event is usually in person. I'd seen it on my reading page before and always thought it sounded so fun but not something a shy person like myself could attend. Well, it ran online this year and I'm so glad I could attend and enjoy the events that took place! I summarise my experience at EPF on my journal, here.

I was lucky enough to receive three Chocolate Box gifts last year. I turned one of them into a podfic, too! That one is Recognition [Star Trek: TNG, Data/Christopher Hobson] and it's a wonderful triple drabble <3

A fic and art exchange on the theme of robotic characters, and one of my favourite exchanges. The lovelyiomixit wrote me one of my rarest rarepairs for the music video Palo Santo by Years & Years. The fic is here. I hope to record a podfic for this fandom in 2021! *adds to to-do list*

I still can't believe someone wrote me a beautiful story for my most obscure of pairings. It didn't even have a fandom category on AO3! I'm absolutely a fan of my creator's works now.

I signed up to this one but dropped out before signups closed as there was only one thing I could create for. The event seemed more in the vein of 'push yourself to make as many things as possible!' so it didn't seem fair really. I did however create that one thing to help the yellow team win!

A fic and art exchange on the theme of food and drink. I wrote a fic about Deanna Troi and her love for chocolate. It was my most popular story in 2020 in terms of kudos/comments, which still has me :O :O :O. The amazing iomixit wrote for me again, delivering another fantastic rarepair story <3 I am spoiled!
Multifandom Drabblemultifandomdrabble
This exchange (my favourite) is always good to me. Being guaranteed a triple drabble is essentially like Christmas for me XD I was spoiled rotten with five treats, four for Night at the Museum and one for my not-so guilty fave, BASEketball. I recorded a podfic of one of my NatM gifts, here.
Fandom Giftboxfandomgiftbox
Another fest where I gave and received podfic - I was stoked! Here's my tag including everything. This year, Giftbox had a bingo challenge and one of the squares was creating a certain number of podfics. Mine + my gift crossed off that square, and it was so satisfying! I simply cannot resist a bingo card.

A Halloween-themed exchange and my first time matching on art instead of fic when creating. I didn't hear back from my recipient, unfortunately, but I was really pleased by the response from others!
Pod_O_Weenpod_o_ween
Another Halloween-themed event, this time with spooky themes. I loved this whole event. The graphics were gorgegous, there was a lot of excitement for it on the podfic Discord, and I got two amazing gifts! I think this is the event I created the most podfic for, too! Podfic Bingopodfic_bingo
Exactly what it says on the tin! I found this bingo so inspiring and completed two cards in 2020 (well... almost. I've got one square left but I know what I'm filling it with.) You can see my two cards here. I've made over 40 podfics that match the prompts in the bingo squares (some intentionally, others have happened to match - yay!) and it's going to be strange not having a card for a while until they reset this year.

The dreaded virus knocked me out for a month of the writing period, so unfortunately I had to default on this exchange. However, I was lucky enough to get a beautiful gift for Brackish/Milton from Independence Day (or in this case, the prequel novel to the films, Silent Zone!) I had lots written when I got sick, so hopefully I'll be able to finish it and get it posted to the exchange's NYR collection soon :-)
Yuleswaps
This was my third year taking part in Yuleswap's Candy Swap, a parcel-swapping event tied to the above Yuletide exchange. I forgot to take pictures of my incoming and outgoing goodies, but I got to enjoy lots of delicious candy from far away places, and what's better than that? My recipient also sent me detailed feedback about each of the sweets I sent them, which I loved and has never happened before. A win!
Fandom Treesfandomtrees
This lovely fest replaced what wasfandom_stocking then in_a_peartree which I took part in whlie they still ran. While I couldn't create much (see 'Yuletide'), I was gifted a wonderfully cracky Monty Python story which I love. After sharing the requests for podfic in this event with my Voice Team teammates, the mods surprised us by swooping in and making a bonus challenge for the event: 'Wish Fulfillment'. This meant we could get points for filling requests in Fandom Trees (or Holiday Wishes, see below) with podfic! I gifted this Harry Potter podfic. Later, my Fandom Trees requests featured in 'Chaos Audio Podcast' created as part of Voice Team's tiebreaker challenge!
Holiday Wishesholiday_wishes
The holiday_wishes community are lovely. I was excited to take part for a third year, and thanks to the wide variety of gift requests, happy that I could fulfil lots of wishes too. I also made a soundscaped Star Trek: TNG podfic for misbegotten, something I planned to do anyway but ended up coinciding with me grabbing some Voice Team points too! The Holiday Wishes AO3 collection went from one work to eight with a little help from Voice Team's 'Wish Fulfillment' challenge (mentioned above in Fandom Trees), and I also inspired three people to add podfic permissions to their profile/add themselves to the FPS List, so that's another win.

This exchange runs on Tumblr (though you don't need a tumblr to take part) and doesn't have assignments - you can send postcards whenever you want. I've sent nine fannish cards so far and have a bunch in my drawer I just need to write out (a couple need canon review) and send. You can see some of the ones I've sent so far here. I love how laid back and friendly this exhange is. I highly recommend it!

This didn't involve creating fanworks, but it did involve being matched to another participant and offering constructive feedback on their works. The event returns in February this year, so if you're into giving and receiving constructive feedback on fanfic, this could be for you!

My first time taking part in this DW annual event. This year, the prompts were colours. I hoped to make a podfic for every colour but didn't manage it ^^' I did have fun with the ones I created, though!
[28 Feb] edit~: I forgot one!dick_or_treat
A simple premise: create one complete smut fic or artwork with a title named after a Pokémon move/attack. The fic doesn't have to have anything to do with Pokemon. I posted a smutfic for Independence Day and went with the attack move "Drum Beating". That move has come up a few times when I've been playing Pokemon TCG with my flatmates or online, and it always gives me a private giggle ;)
