Would anyone like to join me as a signup buddy for characters20in20? It's a challenge to make 20 icons in 20 days! Their October round is Fall/Halloween themed and you can choose two characters from any franchise to make icons about. I'm going for two of my favourite spooky Pokemon, Drifloon and Gourgeist! 

I've been following the community for a little while to see how it works. It's fun that there's voting, though personally I think I'll enjoy having the motivation to make icons as I've been meaning to get back into it for a while.

Not really XD Though I'm slightly surprised by the amount of Will/Hannibal. I think that's thanks to lots of events where people have requested podfic of them plus iomixit's Hannibal podfic series! 

Are any of my followers in any good OFMD Discords they wouldn't mind inviting me to? Preferably 18+, though I'm not fussy.

I'm not much of a Discord user and currently only use it to chat to two people—I'm not even a member of any servers—but I'd quite like to have a place to meet other fans and to go squee when series two comes out ^^

Who's excited for the 5th? What are you looking forward to the most? Any theories? (I can't wait to see Lucius!!! 🤞)

PS: And the new series of Loki comes out on the same day, I think. My goodness, October is going to be busy!

Today is the one-year anniversary of my first podfic! One whole year of pods, woohoo :-D

This ask meme and stats roundup was originally posted by annapods and was intended to be something podficcers completed at the end of 2020. I was super distracted by Voice Team at the end of 2020, so I decided to wait to complete it when I reached the milestone of one year making podfic… today!

It's the day after Halloween, and I have been spoiled with podficcy goodies!

I was lucky enough to get two treats for pod_o_ween from eafay70 and godoflaundrybaskets, both for Star Trek: The Next Generation! Eafay70 recorded the same spooky story as I did (though with awesome additional sound effects!), and I'm delighted it got lots of attention for this fest <3 And, somehow, godoflaundrybaskets managed to find a Lore fanfic I've never read, which was such a huge surprise and I'm still smiling about it!

Also posted for Pod_O_Ween were two multivoice Transformers podfics I was part of, created for/at europodfriends. I just love them. These were my first experiences being part of a multivoice (technically, I've made one before, but that wasn't recorded live.) I narrated Robots in Disguise while my fellow podficcers were present virtually. For Crick Crack, I sent my Cyclonus lines to myrdschaem and they stitched them together (so brilliantly.)

As for real life, I had a teeny Halloween party with my flatmates last night that involved dressing up, boardgames, making smores over candles, and watching spooky clips on YouTube. It was fun, a little bit spontaneous (luckily I still had my Deanna Troi costume from last year), and I'm really grateful to live with nice people seeing as we're going back into lockdown on Thursday.

Woohoo, one of my fics was podficced as part of podfic_bingo by the lovely littleredrobinhood! I'm delighted!

It's my Yuletide fic from last year for Night at the Museum (Jedediah/Octavius) and you can listen here. I saw the email notification about the related work before I'd gotten out of bed this morning, and listening to it while I was all snuggled up was such a lovely way to start my day. Also, "Cover Art Welcome" is one of the podfic's tags... I'm super tempted!

Other podficcy things

I spotted that I have a Star Trek: TNG treat for pod_o_ween and wow, the tags look juicy! I'm looking forward to some Dark!Data. Seeing as IRL Halloween is probably going to be a washout this year (London is going into "Tier 2" lockdown again this weekend), this is going to make it so much better.

europodfriends starts tomorrow! I'm trying to get all my work done today so I'll feel freer to squee. I'm a tad nervous, as I've always been a bit of a lurker, but podfic has really helped me come out of my shell this year. I'm hoping to (1) make a podficcer friend, (2) help with at least one multivoice podfic, and (3) have the courage to ask for feedback on an idea I have for a podfic-related AO3 collection. If I get any of those done, I'll be proud of myself :-)

Another notification I woke up to this morning was my assignment for ITPE. I'm a bit AHHH about it because I admire my recip's work a lot and want to give them something that makes them happy, so I'm feeling the pressure. I will begin my hunt for the perfect fic to record for them once I've finished my trickortreatex assignment. It's going to be interesting!
