Space Swap 2022 Letter

Dear Spacer,

This is my first time taking part in space_swap and I’m super excited! I only found out about the exchange after nominations closed, so I was thrilled to find space canons, characters, and pairings I love already in the tagset.

I’m requesting a range of mediums across my requests, though I’d be happy to receive any medium for a treat you may wish to create for me!

You are welcome to illustrate any scene/moment from my fics (at flowerdeluce) to fulfil my fanart requests if inspiration takes. In cases where I ask for podfic, you are also welcome to record one of my fics if you'd like. When it comes to selecting a fic to podfic for this pairing, I’m just excited to see what you’ll find – I have no real preferences (besides those in my DNWs.) Have fun! (I ship Thor/Loki and Loki/Grandmaster and would have no issues with these pairings featuring or even clashing with Loki/Mobius.) Of course, if you’re writing something new to podfic, I’d be thrilled with anything!

For fanart, I’d love something set at the TVA. I love the colours of that environment, the aesthetic of the clunky robots, the dated yet powerful tech, tired bureaucracy, and sheer scale. I’d also love to see Loki and Mobius on a field mission together on some strange or distant (or future) planet or being stuck in the middle of some space-related apocalypse. Ooh, and Loki protecting Mobius in any way is 👌👌👌

I also love the whole “Do you have candy on Asgard?” thing – I’d love to see Loki experiencing sweet things from various planets/parts of the timeline. (Alternatively, Loki feeding Mobius grapes and nuts somewhere on Asgard to show him how lovely they can be!)

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Deanna Troi
I'm up for absolutely anything and everything involving Deanna. I'd love to hear about her Betazoid heritage, her empathic skills, her role as counsellor, her relationships with members of the Enterprise crew (any), and anything from her being a damsel in distress (feel free to make her suffer) to the bamf who saves the day! Mirrorverse Deanna from Dark Mirror - Diane Duane is very welcome, too.

Other TNG characters and OCs can absolutely feature, as long as Deanna remains the focus of the story. Deanna/Riker and Deanna/Data are also more than welcome.

Data/Lore
I love this pairing, especially when things get dark and angsty, though I also love fluff and cuteness for things set pre-canon on their home planet of Omicron Theta. (Noonian Soong is a big fave too, so feel free to include him.)

Some prompts:

• Data has a recurring nightmare about Lore after Descent. What happens, and how does he deal with it? Is it actually Lore trying to contact him via *handwavey android thing*?
• What happens after Data deactivates Lore in Descent? Where is Lore stored? Does Data ever visit him? Why was that allowed? (Data asserts that he has rights in Measure of a Man but then he just… turns Lore off, and that’s okay?)
• Lore floating in space after DataLore. I find this scenario fascinating! Art of this would be awesome. (Don't worry about including Data or the ship if you go for this one.)
• Post-Brothers. After Lore kills Soong, where does he go? How does it feel having a new emotion chip that wasn’t designed for him? Does he try to contact Data at all over the coming years?
• Pre-Descent space adventures! What is Lore doing in all that time since we last saw him in Brothers? How does he stumble across the Borg? Does he try to contact Data during that time?

Data/Kivas Fajo
*screams* I was delighted to see this pairing in the tagset! I’m eternally fascinated by The Most Toys and how Data’s experiences develop his character. I’d love to see some more of the unhinged Fajo’s ‘lavish’ punishments for disloyalty, though I’d also love him fawning over his new possession. Make him (or the situation) as unhinged as you like!

A canon-divergent AU might get Data stuck on Fajo’s ship for longer (or however you want to play with this episode.) A Data-is-never-rescued AU would also be great – darkfic, dub/non-con, and unhappy endings welcome!

Some prompts:

• Fajo gets out of jail time and recaptures Data as he attempts to amass his original collection again. This time, he’s determined not to let him go at any cost. (I’m just as interested in how he captures him than what he does once he gets him.)
• Data tells Fajo he has a twin brother hoping that if he is no longer unique, Fajo will no longer want him in his collection. Through his many connections, Fajo manages to reunite them so he can keep the pair of valuable androids captive together. (Do they escape??)
• Fajo brands Data as his property to force the mindset that he’s not a living thing. After his rescue/escape, does Data remove the brand or leave it to remember the ordeal he survived?
• Any art of Fajo overpowering Data (however you'd like.)
