Pod_O_Ween Haul!
Nov. 1st, 2020 03:20 pmIt's the day after Halloween, and I have been spoiled with podficcy goodies!
I was lucky enough to get two treats for
pod_o_ween from
eafay70 and
godoflaundrybaskets, both for Star Trek: The Next Generation! Eafay70 recorded the same spooky story as I did (though with awesome additional sound effects!), and I'm delighted it got lots of attention for this fest <3 And, somehow, godoflaundrybaskets managed to find a Lore fanfic I've never read, which was such a huge surprise and I'm still smiling about it!
Check these out:
'The Spirit of the Law' [Lore, Bruce Maddox] by GoLBPodfics
Summary: Bruce Maddox gets what he wanted, and then what he deserves. (Please heed the warnings.)
'Haunted' [Deanna Troi/Tasha Yar] by eafay70
Summary: Counselor Troi doesn't like Halloween.
Also posted for Pod_O_Ween were two multivoice Transformers podfics I was part of, created for/at
europodfriends. I just love them. These were my first experiences being part of a multivoice (technically, I've made one before, but that wasn't recorded live.) I narrated Robots in Disguise while my fellow podficcers were present virtually. For Crick Crack, I sent my Cyclonus lines to
myrdschaem and they stitched them together (so brilliantly.)
You can find them here:
'Robots in Disguise' [Original Vehicon Characters]
Summary: So... how exactly DO giant alien robots get to experience the fun of a Jasper, Nevada Halloween? All it takes is a little paint, a communications officer with an odd sense of humour, and one industrious Vehicon engineer.
'Crick Crack' [Ratchet, Rung, Cyclonus, Lost Light Crew]
Summary: It's the Festival of Mortilus, an ancient feast celebrating the Guiding Hand's victory over Death, which means the Lost Light is full of drunken revelry... and ghost stories. Join the circle and listen as some of the ship's oldest denizens tell tales of revenge - and love - from beyond the grave. (I'm also counting this podfic for my
podfic_bingo square: Collaborate with Other Podficcers!)
I'll be posting the 9 solo podfics I created for Pod_O_Ween here on my journal today, so prepare for a spam! I haven't had time to go through the collection much yet, but when I do, I'll probably post some recs here. You can see the whole collection (of 70+ spooky podfics!) here.
As for real life, I had a teeny Halloween party with my flatmates last night that involved dressing up, boardgames, making smores over candles, and watching spooky clips on YouTube. It was fun, a little bit spontaneous (luckily I still had my Deanna Troi costume from last year), and I'm really grateful to live with nice people seeing as we're going back into lockdown on Thursday.
