I’ve decided to post more event roundups to my journal this year. I’ve always wanted to, though various niggling anxieties about doing so have stopped me from doing so with any regularity.

But this is my journal! I can talk about things I made and gifts I received! These posts are mostly for me to look back on and go, wow, I did things, and wow, people did nice things for me, though I hope they also bring attention to the cool new things that exist in fandom thanks to fun events ^^ I'm aiming at one roundup per month this year.

It's always thrilling to offer “any pokemon” for this exchange, especially when requests aren’t visible during signups. Learning more about Bergmite for my assignment made me appreciate their presence more when they were everywhere in Pokémon Go around Christmas too.

My gift was this adorable fic about Philippe (Legends Z-A) and his Klefki: Klefki's New Look (Gen, 2.2k) The author used so many of my Klefki prompts, which was so fun!

Was lovely to watch a lot of Friends while saying at my friend's for Christmas after recording the Joey/Rachel. They are so sweet together! Also, I realised while reading the Venom one that my mostly black black-and-white cat is called Eddie and it made me laugh. Full name Eddie Baby though, so that settles things :P

linky was kind enough to send me tonnes of DW points! I was so delighted. Most of them went back into the event so I could spread the love around, but I still have enough left for myself to feel very spoiled.

kshandra are amazing and sent me REAL PHYSICAL GIFTS to open! Ahhh! It was so lovely of them. I opened them on Christmas Day while sat beside my friend’s tree, her kittens clambering all over me. Here they are:

K'shandra sent me this gorgeous chain for glasses, just in time for me to update my reading ones. The colours are perfect for me, and I love that the chain attachment parts are gold. I’m also still really into making beaded phone straps, so the pretty beads are super relevant to my interests!

Scintilla sent me these amazing wax melts. They were so beautifully packaged and the scents are wonderfully chosen. As a wax melt maker myself, I’m so impressed and inspired by the marbling and strong scent throw. I’ve already melted one whole bar over the Christmas period, and the scent lingers for so long afterwards. I love a strong wax melt! I’m saving the best until last (orange) and can’t wait to enjoy that smell permeating everything :D

Another pod I teamed up with Wilfriede for in December was the unusually formatted Luna/Cho story. It's an essay written by Luna with commentary notes by Cho. I loved editing that one.

I'd wanted to make Wilfriede a Devil Wears Prada podfic for so long, as she’s so enthusiastic about this fandom. I finally watched the film in December and wow, I can see why there’s so much femslash out there for Andy and Miranda! Also, this fandom is so genous with their podfic comments - I can't wait to make more <3

My gift

I received this gorgeous Jennifer’s Body fic, which I just adore! It's canon divergence, murder girlfriends, and beautifully written.

VTMB, that I posted my goals for here, is ongoing, though as my podfic output is slowing now I’m back to work, I'll have made more for it in December than January. This event will have its own roundup post once it's over, as is tradition ^^

Events I’m looking forward to in January

I’m trying not to over assign myself with exchanges in 2026, as I’m easily overwhelmed at the moment, so the fewer deadlines I have, the better. I’m hoping to treat and pinch hit more than I sign up to things, as that will help take the pressure off. I’m not sure if I’ll sign up to

candyheartsex or

seasonsofdrabbles, but those are the events I’ve got my eye on. I’ll probably end up going with Candy Hearts if I do sign up, as I’ve already spied a few podfic requests I’m excited by 🔍💗

fandomtrees is still in its creation phase and is due to open on the 10th of January! There are still a lot of trees with no presents under them, though. Here's the request spreadsheet if you think you can help! I’ve been having a lot of fun making different mediums and think I have another three gifts in me that I’m currently working on and hope I can complete in time. What I made and my highly anticipated gifts will be included in my January event roundup.

A friend and I have been collecting all the

threesentenceficathon's annual “any fandom” prompts for a few years at this point, filling them privately as gifts to each other in our shared rare fandom. While we’ve mostly fallen out of that fandom now, the three-sentence ficathon has always been a goldmine of fic inspiration to me. I’m sure it will be this year too, though for which fandoms, I’ve no idea. Something to look forward to! It opens for prompts on the 17th of Jan ^^

Ha, I opened up that link to female YouTuber recs, and had to smile at the first one being a rec for Rachel Maksy. I've been following her for some years now, so consider this a +1 to that rec! Scrolling through the other comments... I don't recognize most of the other names, but I did see Cozy K being mentioned; she's also one of my top favorites at the moment!

The Vanilla Buttercream wax has been today's scent, and omgggg I've never wanted to eat wax so bad XD Citrus is the best! That one still lives, but I doubt I'll be able to resist melting it for much longer, hehe.
