I wasn't actually following anyone on AO3 until I saw this square. I love anomieow's Terror fic and was delighted to discover they'd written for OFMD too, so them being my first subscription felt very right :-)

This was a rec fromtheseatheseatheopensea and I adore it! A beautiful ficlet full of in-character whimsy and charm. I recognised the author after I'd commented too. They have an Ideal Home fic that's been on my Marked for Later list for two years... Perhaps now I'll finally read it!

A gorgeous series of vignettes into Ed and Izzy's backstory, from Izzy's beginnings as Izzy the Spewer to his personality shifting for Ed's benefit, all the way to Ed meeting (and leaving Izzy for) a certain gentleman pirate. This inspired me to podfic it, and it really changed the way I feel about Izzy. A real gut punch of a fic.

And the characters are awesome, right? I think my favourite is Jim, but it's hard to choose, because they are all great! <3 Do you have any favourites? (Haha, I'm unashamedly always ready to talk about the queer pirates!)
