peasina | Snowflake Challenge

Thanks to the

snowflake_challenge, I’ve set four goals for the coming year under the cut.

1. Take part in events/exchanges that are new to me
I’ve a few favourite fic/podfic exchanges that I regularly participate in, but I’d like to leave my comfort zone this year by taking part in new ones or ones I’ve always wanted to but never have.

2. Podfic longer works (10k+)
I mostly make short pods. This is known as being a ‘hummingbird’ in the podfic community, which is cute. Out of my 200+ works, 2 are 10k+, and the longest of those is 11.2k. I’d like to try recording longer works in 2022. I’ve a couple in mind already, which is a good start. By the end of the year, I’d like to have recorded five 10k+ works!

3. Post more on my DW
After abandoning my Twitter (I can’t get along with its user experience), I’d like to post more here, even if it’s small tweet-sized things.

4. Read 20 books
My Goodreads goal this year is 20 books. (Add me as a friend if you like, my profile is here!) I’ve also added this year’s Book Bingo by

kingstoken to my memories for inspiration and plan to listen to more audiobooks in general.

On the topic of goals, here’s a late update on my three 2021 podfic goals, also created as part of the Snowflake Challenge!

1. Record longer podfics
I hoped to have 40+ podfics that were over ten minutes by the end of he year. I ended with 59, so that one’s in the bag.

2. Record podfics for British Comedy fandoms
I recorded six Britcom pods in 2021 (Cabin Pressure, The Fast Show, and Monty Python’s Flying Circus.) I also recorded two Fawlty Towers podfics in early 2022, so I’m counting those too :-) I feel like eight is a win.

3. Take part in events and exchanges that welcome podfic
I smashed this goal by taking part in more podfic events than I did fanfic ones in 2021!
