snowflake_challenge just because I was behind, so below I'm catching up by posting challenges 1 - 5 in one post β¨
Challenge #1: Icebreaker
Introduce yourself. Tell us why you're doing the challenge, and what you hope to gain from it.
Hello! Welcome to my journal ^^ My name's peasina, or 'pea'. I'm in my late 30s, from the UK, and queer :)
I'm primarily a podficcer these days, but I also write fic and sometimes dabble in fanart. I love taking part in exchanges and events and post a lot about those on my journal. That's a big part of the reason why I wanted to do the Snowflake Challenge this year too. Events like these give me motivation to do things and are a great chance to get to know others in fandom, and that's lovely.
My main fandom at the moment is Pokemon and my favourite mon is Magnemite. I love all steel types though! I recently finished Legends Z-A and am now dipping into the DLC and absolutely loving it (no spoilers please π) I always love to learn people's favourite Pokemon, so please tell me yours if you'd like to. I collect Magnemite-themed things and am building a Magnemite Species Set for the TCG (I used to call this a Masterset, but apparently species set is the trendy new term.) My latest comic con cosplay was gym leader Tulip.
My main hobbies outside fandom are making collages, wax melts, and beaded phone straps, the latter of which I'm hoping to actually start selling this year ^^ Crafting is my happy place. Crafts I've experimented with recently are picky pads, hama beads, wax seal sets, shrinky dink keyrings, water marbling, and zines. I should probably share some of them on my journal at some point...
Challenge #2: Post about your pets, pets from your canon, anything you want!
I recently adopted two kittens, Frank and Eddie Baby! (This is a Monty Python reference.) They will be turning five months old soon and are getting so big, so fast. Here's Frank sitting next to my podficcing mic, and Eddie Baby getting involved when I was trying to photograph my tulips.
This is my beautiful doggy, Cherry. She will be turning three soon, loves walks, green beans, and her new little brothers.

Create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, a wishlist of sorts
1. Comments on any works in the PokePodProject collections — I co-modpokepodproject, an event that aims to create a fic and podfic for every Pokémon, and I would be delighted if the participants got more attention on their works. I’d appreciate it so, so, so much if you showed them (fic and/or podfic) some love. All are under 1k/10 mins. Here are some links to help you navigate:

3. Website recs — Where do you hang out or regularly visit online that isn't social media, news, or mindless scrolling-adjacent? Going on the computer/internet used to be such a fun activity; these days I'm just switching between the same sites and apps and *sigh*... it kind of sucks. (DW not included in the suck of course.) I'd love to know about hidden gem sites or sites that are gems to you that I can visit without someone trying to sell me something or steal my data. It doesn't have to be fannish, but it can be.
Any website that you like, be it fanfiction, art, social media, or something a bit more eccentric!

"Most expensive card for every Kanto Pokemon" - If you enjoy looking at Pokemon cards, this video is for you XD

Date: 2026-01-13 11:51 pm (UTC)One of my favorites actually is news, but for science, which is Science Daily. It is full of fun facts and fascinating discoveries. I post a lot of links from it about fossils, early humans, space exploration, etc.
Strong Towns is about community spirit, urban design, and making your town a better place to live.
Free Thought Blogs is a platform with a slower posting rate than Dreamwidth, with topics leaning toward critical thinking, atheism, counterculture, and science. It's a good place to go when tired of all the stupidity elsewhere.
