Voice Team 2026 – Goals
Apr. 30th, 2026 12:15 pmThe discord has opened for this year's main
voiceteam round. I’m on team Wild Things!
I’ve previously made lists of personal goals for the event, and for
battleship too, and I really like having something to work towards alongside the usual challenges, so I’m doing it again ^^ Some of the goals I previously didn’t manage have returned.
ONE: Record as many podfics about robots/androids/AIs/cyborgs as possible
Originally, I thought to aim for 100% of my pods to be robot related, but I don’t know how possible that is, so it will still be fun to aim for as high a percentage as possible. I’ll work it out at the end and see how high I got :P
TWO: Record more femslash
I’d love to increase my F/F output by any amount. Getting it to half the amount of my Gen works would be amazing, but incredibly ambitious—64 new femslash works? Definitely possible, but probably not before the end of May 😆 So to go with something more doable, I’ll aim for having 69 femslash pods by the end of Voiceteam. Hey, it’s a nice number!
THREE: Write something
I don’t write much these days, and many Voiceteam challenges lend themselves to writing something new, so this is just a little extra push to myself to give it a go.
FOUR: Celebrate a Pokémon milestone (if I pass it)
I’m very close to having 100 works under “Pokémon - All Media Types” on my peasina AO3. I want to do something special for my 100th, though I’m not sure what that will look like. I’ll work it out when/if it happens!
FIVE: Record a gift for a member of my team I didn’t know before the event
Who knows who it will be and what they’ll be into! I hope I can deliver 💪
SIX: Make something physical for a challenge (crafts, baked goods, cosplay, etc.)
I’ve done this in prior rounds, making zines, wax melts, and cocktails. It’s so fun to use podfic-related inspiration to make something tangible, so I hope to do it again this year.
SEVEN: Record two pods I asked permission for
I asked permission to podfic two stories (something I rarely do – I just stick to authors with existing permission) and haven’t gotten around to them yet, so I’d love to get on that!
EIGHT: Be better at listening to my body, and don’t leave it behind
Two of my chronic conditions have gotten worse recently, and while team events like Voiceteam are great distractions, neglecting them is bad. I aim to spend at least 15 minutes per day (ideally more) meditating or being present with my physical self so I don’t end up going down the easy route of “the fun thing gets priority.”
NINE: Finish two voice things I owe
I still owe someone a podfic for a fanwork auction and have fallen behind with some non-fannish voice work too. I’d love to get those finished during the event, using the energy/motivation Voiceteam brings me to sit in front of a mic!
TEN: Make new friends
Always a hope🤞🤞🤞
